The Production Supervisor oversees and manages the day-to-day operation of a department including the achievement of daily production goals, maintaining the quality and safety of the products, ensuring that all equipment and activity within the department meet the Kowalski Companies, Inc. standards for food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices as well as all FDA/OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Executes production plans.
  • Coordinates activities of the department by implementing the daily plans by setting-up equipment; monitoring results; adjusting and improving performance.
  • Conduct daily prestart up and post operation inspections.
  • Meet daily with production team members to review production plans and issues.
  • Ensure that all products are produced in the most cost-effective manner possible.
  • Job specifics will require recipe/batch knowledge. Cutting accuracy, solving minor machine/computer issues. Proper inventory rotation and waste control as it pertains to the department.
  • Adhere to all FDA/OSHA standards.
  • Rewards employees and handles progressive discipline as necessary.
  • Controls and adjusts scheduling of employees.
  • Monitors employee attendance.
  • Completes annual and 30/60/90-day employee performance evaluations.
  • Checks and submits employee hours for payroll on software system.
  • Responsible for conducting employee accident investigations and directing employees appropriately regarding accidents.
  • Trains and motivates employees how to properly use equipment.
  • Cross train in different area’s of the plant to assist when needed




Quality Management Systems

  • Management’s role in supporting our Food Safety Management System is to ensure that all policies, procedures, documentation, and behaviors are consistently executed by yourself and your direct reports through training, enforcement, and resource planning.
  • Strong working knowledge with regulations, ordinances or compliance guides governing the manufacturing of the food products in the facility.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Experience: Preferred 2 years minimum in Food manufacturing or related industry
  • Strong aptitude for data analysis and information reporting.
  • Problem solving skills and team management skills.
  • Ability to independently manage projects and ensure follow-up and completion.
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills with all levels of management.
  • Experience in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
